Best Attractions in Phuket-Thailand
Phuket Island is one of Thailand’s premier tourist destinations, owing to its beautiful beaches, scenic landmarks, and its top quality restaurants, seaside spas, and resorts. If you are planning on visiting Phuket for the first time, you may be wondering exactly what attractions in Phuket are worth seeing. Of course you should try and see everything, but not everyone is able to visit all of the “must see” Phuket attractions, so I will be looking at 3 absolute must see attractions in Phuket. Also, because a good hotel is a vital part of any good vacation, I will be reviewing a couple of my favorite hotels in Phuket.
Phuket Attractions You Need to See:
Phuket Big Buddha
This is definitely one of the premier attractions in Phuket. It is a 147 foot tall statue of the Buddha carved from amazing white marble; causing the statue to seemingly shine in the sun. Every day thousands travel to the Buddha statue to donate and write positive messages on bricks in front of the statue. While images of the statue are awe inspiring, the real thing is even more amazing; if you are travelling to Phuket you owe it to yourself to see the skilled craftsmanship firsthand. But it is also worth noting that the Phuket Big Buddha it is a very important place for the Thai people, so dress modestly or you might get some unwelcome views.
Nai Harn Beach
The pristine beaches of Phuket are one of the main reasons to vacation on the island. There is nothing quite like spending the day by the water, taking in the sights. But it can be hard to properly enjoy a beach when it is swarming with people, therefore it is best to look for a lesser known beach. Nai Harn Beach is perfect for those who want to enjoy the beach without dealing with a large amount of tourists. Other beaches like Surin Beach, Paradise Beach, and Patong Beach will usually be placed high on the list of “must visit Phuket attractions” and because of that these beaches will be swarming with tourists. Nai Harn Beach is very popular with locals, but because there are not many hotels nearby, many tourists tend to skip over Nai Harn. It really is a mistake because the beach is perfect for snorkeling and diving. In my opinion this one of the most underrated attractions in Phuket.
Phang Nga Bay
The last of the 3 Phuket attractions I want to mention is an amazing natural attraction. The bay is best known for the breathtaking natural limestone rock formations that jut out of the water; these make Phang Nga Bay one of the most breathtaking natural attractions in Phuket. Hands down the best way to experience Phang Nga Bay is to take a boat tour, this not only lets you take in all the natural beauty of the bay, but also spend some down time at the local beaches along the boat’s route.
There are many great hotels in Phuket (as you would expect from any great tourist destination), but in my opinion, there are a couple standout Phuket hotels that need to be mentioned.
This beachside hotel is a collection of smaller villas, and unlike other Phuket hotels is tailor made for those who want a more peaceful, quiet hotel experience. The rooms in the Shore at Katathani are of course amazing (as you would expect from a luxury hotel) but the real treat is the great sights you can take in. The views of the mountains and beaches that you can see from your room are unmatched by any of the other hotels in Phuket.
This is the other of the Phuket hotels that I wanted to mention. The Panwa Beachfront Resort is just an absolute joy to stay at. The hotel has a nice private beach and a private pool, the rooms are fully stocked with great amenities like a safety deposit box, controlled air conditioning, and the hotel has great room service. Definitely one of the premier hotels in Phuket.attractions in Phuket, Best Attractions in Phuket, hotels in Phuket, Nai Harn Beach, Phang Nga Bay, Phuket attractions, Phuket Big Buddha, Phuket Island, Phuket Panwa Beachfront Resort, Shore at Katathani, travelling to Phuket, visiting Phuket
